| Article number: kb-10 | Q. What is a subdomain?
A. A sub domain can be another domain name based on your Top Level Domain name, that points to another directory on your web space. For example, if my TLD is mydomain.com and I have a blog on my web site that I want people to be able to directly access without going through my main site, I could do the following: Set up a sub domain named something like blog.mydomain.com and point it to the directory my blog resides in. Then, when someone typed into their browser address bar : http://blog.mydomain.com they would be taken directly to the blog instead of the main site. Dixie Internet's top 3 hosting packages allow for the use of sub domains.
